With Easy Social Share Buttons for WordPress, you have access to numerous free extensions. They are complimentary for all of the direct plugin customers.
The list of extensions you can find in the Extensions (Add-ons) menu of the plugin.
The installation of a free extension (add-on) is like any regular plugin you have. Navigate via the list of free extensions and click the Download button next to the card. The up-to-date version will download. Then you can install like a regular WordPress plugin from the download folder.
The extension (add-on) card can have different states.
The locked to download state is when the plugin is not registered with direct purchase code. This means that you won’t be able to download and install. If you are a direct plugin customers refer to activation of plugin article. If you receive plugin bundled inside a theme find out the benefits of direct customers here.
The regular state indicates that you can download an extension (add-on). The regular state will appear when the plugin is registered with a purchase code only. The state will also appear even if an extension (add-on) is installed but not activated.
Installed & Activated
When a free extension (add-on) is already running on your website you will see the installed state like this.
Updating Extension (Add-on)
The update of an extension (add-on) that you already have on your website happens manually. To complete the process do the following:
- Go to WordPress plugin list and locate the extension (add-on) for Easy Social Share Buttons you need to update. Once you found it in the list of plugins (usually they are directly under Easy Social Share Buttons for WordPress) hit deactivate and then remove.
- Go to Easy Social Share Buttons menu and select Extensions (Add-ons). When the screen is fully loaded navigate to the extension (add-on) you need to update and complete the steps for a free extension (add-on) installation.
The update of plugin extension (add-on) does not require to deactivate, remove or update Easy Social Share Buttons for WordPress unless you get instructions from the support team doing this (with link to plugin update).
If you are not able to download a new version of the extension (add-on), probably the old is still running – you get the installed state.
If you get an error message that plugin can’t be installed because folder already exists you probably deactivate the extensions but did not remove it before installing the new version.
