The questions people ask most often, and the things that catch people out. If your question is not here, the plugin’s own readme on the WordPress.org listing answers a shorter version of the same set.

Privacy and cookies #
Does this set any cookies? #
No.
Analytics identifies a reader by a one-way hash of a truncated IP address and their browser string, computed on the server and discarded. Nothing is written to the visitor’s device, there is no tracking script to block, and there is no cookie to consent to or to delete afterwards. Turning analytics off stops the script being loaded at all.
Do I need a cookie banner? #
No, for anything this plugin does. There is nothing to consent to.
Can analytics tell me who a reader is? #
No, and that is the point. The hash is one-way, computed from a truncated address, thrown away, and never stored as an address. It cannot be reversed, cannot recognise the same person on another site, and cannot survive as a persistent identifier across visits.
Performance #
Will it slow my site down? #
The plugin’s CSS and JavaScript are only loaded on a page that actually has a card on it. A site with the plugin active but no card placed anywhere loads nothing from it.
A link in bio page can go further and load only its own assets, leaving the rest of the theme’s out — see Loading method. Be aware that if you use a shortcode or a WooCommerce block inside a custom button, that page needs Standard instead, because those need scripts this plugin does not own.
Embeds are lazy: a video on a card that is never expanded costs nothing to load.
Deleting and deactivating #
What happens to my data if I delete the plugin? #
Everything the plugin made is deleted as soon as you click Delete on the Plugins screen: every card and all of its settings, any icons you uploaded, and the plugin’s own settings. There is no second confirmation and no chance to undo it. WordPress asks its own generic question about deleting the plugin, and that is the last you are told.
So if you are only deactivating, or trying another plugin, use Deactivate, not Delete. Deactivating hides the cards but keeps all of them, and clicking Activate again brings the whole studio back exactly as it was. That is the difference between a reversible decision and an irreversible one, and the Plugins screen does not make it obvious.
The one exception is analytics. Your analytics tables are kept even on Delete, because deleting a plugin to try something else should not cost you the record of who visited which card. If you would rather they went, open the Analytics screen and use Turn analytics off and delete its tables first; they are removed on uninstall too, and the two actions read the same setting so you never have to think about which came first.
Deleting a single card from inside the plugin does ask first, so that is the only place the question is asked twice.
Is there a way to back the cards up? #
Every card is a post of the type spcad_card with its settings in one piece of post meta. A normal database backup covers them, and a full site backup taken through your host or a plugin is the simplest safety net. Restoring the database puts the cards back as they were.
Other plugins #
Do I need WooCommerce for the product and coupon blocks? #
No. Those two blocks need WooCommerce; everything else works without it. If WooCommerce is not active the buttons are not offered, and a card that already had one keeps working and keeps its settings if WooCommerce is switched off later — the button stays, with a note saying the shop can no longer honour it.
Does it work with page builders? #
There is a block for the block editor and a widget for Elementor. Both offer the cards that are set to Manual, because those are the ones meant to be placed by hand. The other three display types place themselves.
Other builders generally work through the shortcode, in a shortcode block or in their own HTML/shortcode field.
My card is not showing #
Almost every “my card is not showing” problem is one of four settings. Start with the Display tab, because it decides all of them.

The shortcode shows as text #
Four checks, in order:
- The card’s Display is set to Manual. Automatic and link in bio cards ignore the shortcode by design.
- The card is published.
- You pasted it into something that renders shortcodes — not a heading, a table cell or a plain-text block.
- You saved the page after pasting.
The card is not in the block’s dropdown #
Only Manual cards are listed, by design. The dropdown, the shortcode picker and the Elementor widget all list the same set.
The card appears twice on the page #
Almost always because the card is set to Automatic and its shortcode is on the page. One card is one display type. Either take the shortcode off the page, or change the display type to Manual.
The popup is not appearing #
- Check Where to display. A card set to posts or products does not appear on ordinary pages.
- Check Don’t show on these URLs. Partial URLs and
*wildcards work here, so*on a line of its own hides the popup everywhere. - Check Maximum appearances. If it is set to 3, it has stopped showing for you after three visits. That is remembered for Limit period days.
- If the trigger is After timeout or On scroll, you are not waiting long enough, or you never scroll far enough.
The popup shows on a page it should not #
Two automatic cards at once will both try to appear. Go to All Cards and check the display type of every card set to Automatic — you probably only want one.
A scheduled block is not showing #
Open the block. It carries a note saying whether it has not started yet, has already ended, or has its start date after its end date. Full detail in Scheduling a block.
A messaging button does nothing #
- The number must be digits only with the country code first. No
+, no spaces, no dashes. - iMessage only works on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and does nothing anywhere else. That is the operating system, not the plugin.
- Signal cannot open a chat with a message written in the block, so it opens empty. There is no message field for it.
- Telegram and Viber match on the whole number, so a local number with no country code reaches nobody.
A YouTube video does not autoplay #
Browsers require sound to be muted before a video will autoplay. Switch Mute on as well as Autoplay.
The free version and Pro #
Why is a control greyed out with a Pro badge on it? #
That is what a Pro control looks like. Locked controls are shown rather than hidden, so you can see the feature exists and what it would do. Nothing already saved is taken away — a card built with Pro keeps rendering those settings after a downgrade, and only reaching past a limit is refused.
The full list is in Free versus Pro.

I have Pro and it says I do not #
The licence check is handled by Freemius. If you had Pro before and your licence is still with you, activate it from the link at the top of the Analytics screen. If the licence itself has lapsed, everything you built keeps working and comes back the moment the licence does.
How many cards and links do I get on the free version? #
Three cards, and three social links per card. A card that already has more keeps every link; the limit only stops you adding one past it.
Appearance #
Is there a badge or branding? #
No, unless you ask for one. There is a small optional credit under the buttons, off by default, which you can switch on per card from the Display tab.
Why has my card got a different font to the rest of my site? #
It should not have. Leave the Typography family on Site default and the card uses whatever your theme loads. If you have picked a specific font and then changed theme, that is the reason — set it back to Site default.
The background image is not showing #
Background images are PRO. On the free version the Image option in each background group is greyed out, and the card falls back to a colour or gradient.
Can I use the same card on two pages? #
Yes — paste the shortcode into as many pages as you like. Its assets load only on the pages that have it.
Can I have the same person in two places? #
Yes, but as two cards. Each card is one of the four display types, so one card is one thing in one place. Use Clone on the All Cards screen to avoid the typing, then change the second card’s display type.
Still stuck? #
Three things worth having to hand before asking anyone:
- The plugin version, from Plugins → Installed Plugins.
- Your theme, and its version.
- Whether WooCommerce and Elementor are active.
And a screenshot of the whole card editor tab you are stuck on, not a crop. Most editor problems are a field you have not noticed at the bottom of a panel.
